It’s a New Year. So Now What?

Greetings from Austin, Dear Readers!

With Plasma Rain in print, we’ve brought conclusion to our ten-years-in-the-making series, Angry Ghosts; and we’re simply thrilled at the response. Page reads in the Kindle Lending Library are at an all time high. (We credit Marek Okon’s incredible talent on the cover for Plasma Rain, and maybe—just maybe—we got the pages between right)

Okay, the series is done. Now what?

Some might think we’d rest on our ample haunches, clinking tumblers, in celebration. Well, sure, there were more than a few Old Fashioneds poured, but Luxardo Cherries don’t buy themselves. And ultimately, it really is about creation. Writers write. Publishers publish.

Beaning around in Farnham’s noggin is a supernatural/psychological thriller in the vein of Dean Koontz. It’ll be a standalone novel, not a series, and oh my is it daaaaarrrrrrrrk…

We also have a story that’s hard to classify. Kind of a “Bedtime Story for Adults,” if you will. We’ll put it out shortly.

There may be an anthology of short stories, as well, taken from the Vivid Dreams posts on this blog and projects elsewhere.

In the meantime, thank you for your support! It means everything to us. And, please, if you’ve read our books, would you leave a review? Reviews are crucial to building visibility online. Goodreads, Amazon, blog pages, chat rooms, anywhere you can, we’d be immensely grateful.

Yours,

C.O.P

Plasma Rain Now Available WORLDWIDE

At long last…

We are beyond proud to present Plasma Rain, the much anticipated conclusion to the Angry Ghosts Series.  Ordinarily, we’d make a glib comment about our author taking ten years to bring this story to a finish (2009 – 2019). But right now we’re just ecstatic to share it with you, dear readers.

Thank you for all of your comments, reviews, and feedback! And Most of all, thank you for your patience.

New Cover art for Plasma Rain

With the book block for Plasma Rain complete, we’ve turned our attention to the cover. For the finale of our decade long series, we wanted something special.

Against all hope, we contacted Marek Okon, a brilliant mixed media artist. Mr Okon has worked covers of the biggest Triple A games like Naughty Dog’s Uncharted Series & The Last of Us, Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone, and Sony’s God of War. He has also produced some of our all time favorite book covers like Andy Remic’s Hardcore. He is, without question, our first choice.

There was some begging on our part (we’re not proud) and we were overjoyed when Mr. Okon accepted our project. From the initial concept images, we knew we had found the right artist to bring Thompson, Argo, and Maiella to life.

But we were unprepared for how stunning the final draft would be. We couldn’t be more pleased.

And the cover:

Look for worldwide release in E-book and softcover on or before October 15, 2019

Thank you all for taking this journey with us! We know it has taken a long time to get here. We hope you’ll agree, this one is worth the wait.

Sincerely,

C.O.P.

Plasma Rain Final Draft Delivered

It’s okay. You can say it. You never thought this day would come. Well neither did we. So it is with shock and awe that we announce the final draft of Plasma Rain has been delivered!

What’s next?

A blizzard of copyedits, beta reads, artwork, and layout, that’s what. And since Farnham took his sweet time completing his series conclusion, we have to relearn all of the applications we’ve forgotten how to use over the last four years. Did we mention it was four years since Of Mortal Creatures?

FOUR YEARS, Farnham.

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, we’re elated with this conclusion. So many threads to weave, so many story lines deserving completion… We had no idea how the tale of Thompson, Maiella, and Argo would wrap up. Now we do, and we can’t wait to share it with you. Keep checking back for updates as we offer sneak peeks at cover concepts, press kits, Author Review Copies, and more.

In the meantime, let us know what you think is the best revenge for making us all wait so long:

As ever, thank you for sticking with us all this time.

Sincerely,

-C.O.P.

Plasma Rain First Draft Complete

Shocked and stunned. Mired in disbelief. That’s what we are.

Also, elated. Why? Because after three years we have in our hands a complete first draft of Plasma Rain. Tipping the scales at 189,872 words, this conclusion to the Angry Ghosts series will take much editing before we wrap a cover and ship first editions. Rest assured, dear readers, we are all over it and have December 2018 as a soft target for release.

For today, it’s party hats and frosty mugs as we celebrate this long awaited milestone.

Thanks to all for your patience! Check back for updates as we tighten up a denouement worthy of the wait.

-C.O.P.

P.S.- Here’s a shot of *notes* that went into the full series. Over a thousand pages, handwritten. (Prehistoric MacBook included for scale)

Reports of our Disappearance are Greatly Exaggerated

In the absence of regular updates, a fair assumption is made: we must have given up on this whole publishing thing, knuckled under to the strong arm tactics of digital gatekeepers, and abandoned our beloved readers, leaving them hanging like a prom date on the doorstep.

Nope.

To be blunt, we’re just not smart enough to choose the easy way out. We’re too addicted to completion, too pigheaded to give up. And we really, really love torturing our author for pages. Seriously, we almost define our existence in his ritual flogging. But before you start typing a report to Amnesty International, you should know he totally deserves it.

More important than any of this, of course, is that real progress has been made. Sixty-seven chapters in, there are a handful more before the first draft of Plasma Rain is complete. So many threads beg for resolution we can’t rush or fudge our way through. No shortcuts. That said, we’re approaching ten years since Angry Ghosts, and, looking back at that span of time, we’re amazed readers are still with us. In plainest sincerity, we are blessed beyond measure that you are still with us. We owe you denouement worthy of the wait.

Meanwhile, we’re always looking for means of motivation to spur our abeyant author. Send us your most diabolical, inimical ideas. In return, we’ll reward you with images of your ideas implemented and a completed novel by year’s end.

Yours truly,

C.O.P.

Progress Continues on Plasma Rain

bad-santa

Holidays. Ugh.

Now that we’re through the Made in China Consumer Miracle Season, we wanted to take a moment and assure our readers that progress yet continues on our series conclusion, Plasma Rain.

For those who are understandably skeptical, yes, this will be the conclusion. (Likely with 40-50 pages of appendices, but certainly the last in the series)

The journey may be more important than the destination. But when that journey approaches a full decade, it’s time to Wrap. It. Up.

So while it may have seemed we’d gone dark, and our author absconded to North Dakota so DAPL could benefit from his extra special attention, we’ve been heads down, no distractions, flank speed on Plasma Rain. Cover concept is done. The full outline is done. Reams of handwritten notes have been sifted and compiled. The whole skeleton is done. Just need to put flesh on those lovely bones…

In the meantime, we can’t thank you enough for sticking by us all these years. We are literally nothing without you!

Sincerely,

-C.O.P.
